TVA Nuclear Security Officers,

As a result of hard work from the IBEW Local 911 negotiating committee, we have our first collective bargaining agreement signed.  This is a great accomplishment for Nuclear Security at TVA and paves the way for even greater Local 911 successes in the future.  With that, our next challenge we have is to continue to grow our membership.

There were several Nuclear Security Officers who signed Authorization cards with the IBEW but have yet to join the Local.  Some of this may be due to Covid-19 limiting our ability to get out to the sites and have more face-to-face interaction but that will be changing as TVA reintegrates those required to work from home back out to the sites.  This will allow your IBEW Tenth District International Representatives more flexibility to visit the three sites in the future.  Until then let me encourage each of you to talk to your co-workers about your experiences with the IBEW so far.  Our plan is always to organize as many workers as possible as the company knows our membership numbers and as you well know, there is strength in numbers.

I hope this message finds you doing well, and I hope those of you that are lucky enough to have the Holiday off enjoy your time and families.  Many of you are United States Veterans and many of you may have lost friends and family during times of war.  While you're enjoying a weekend off or working, let's not forget those we have lost during their time serving this great nation.

Again, congratulations on your first Agreement with IBEW Local 911, and please reach out to your co-workers and encourage them to join.
