Brothers and Sisters of IBEW Local Union 911 and potential brothers and Sisters,

I wanted to take a minute of this beautiful Wednesday to give you some updates as to where we are with your Local union and, where we are headed in the very near future. We have been steadily signing up members, processing those applications and authorizations for dues deductions. Some of you may have seen your first dues deducted from your most recent check and others are in process and should begin withdrawals on the next pay week.

With your success in signing up members, it’s time to move toward your election for IBEW Local Union 911 Officers. Early next month all LU 911 members will receive a notification letter regarding our intent to seek nominations for the positions of Business Manager/President, Vice President, Recording Secretary, Financial Secretary, Treasure and Executive Board offices. (3 executive board officers per site) The nomination process will be done per the IBEW Constitution and Local Union 911 Bylaws.

Upon mailing of this notice, we will be taking nominations for candidates for at least the next 20 days with nominations closing on November 2nd. Ballot packages will be prepared and mailed out to all IBEW LU 911 members no later than November 9th with a return deadline of November 25th at 5:00 pm. Your interim Business Manager Scott Fugate with input from your interim site leads will appoint an Election Judge and Tellers from your membership to be present and preside over the final vote count.   Ballot packages will be prepared and mailed out to all IBEW LU 911 members no later than November 9th with a return deadline of November 25th at 5:00 pm with the vote count taking place on November 30th.

With all this work and effort from your interim site leads, myself and the Tenth District organizing staff you will have the first ever official IBEW Local Union 911 monthly union meeting in December!

Thank you for all the work each of you do every day and thank you for your trust and dedication to the IBEW! Please encourage your co-workers who have not joined to get on board and, take a seat at the table to determine the future working conditions for Nuclear Security at TVA.

In Solidarity,

Curtis Sharpe
